The Try Art Program is a playful, beginner‑friendly introduction to artistic swimming designed for young athletes who are curious about moving, splashing, and creating in the water. This program uses a play‑based approach, where children learn the foundations of artistic swimming through games, imagination, and teamwork rather than formal technique.
Our goal is simple: help swimmers fall in love with the water, build confidence, and discover the joy of artistic movement in a fun, low‑pressure environment.
Throughout the eight‑week session, athletes explore artistic swimming through:
Water games that build comfort, balance, and body awareness
Creative movement activities that introduce rhythm, musicality, and expression
Team challenges that encourage cooperation and communication
Imaginative play such as pretending to be sea creatures, superheroes, or dancers
Mini‑routines where swimmers put simple movements together to music
This approach allows children to learn naturally, joyfully, and at their own pace — all while developing the early skills that support future artistic swimming.
Try Art Program runs in fall, winter, and spring. Athletes train one day per week, either on Monday evening (6:00-7:00) , Thursday evenings (6:00 -7:00 pm) or Saturday morning (9:00-10:00 am).
For Try ART, the athlete should be comfortable and capable of swimming in deep water for several minutes at a time.
Season Fee payments of $320.00 will be made monthly
Our full season "Art Start" Artistic Swimming program offers athletes ages 11 and up a fun, supportive, and creative introduction to the sport. This program is perfect for swimmers who enjoy music, movement, and teamwork, and who want to build confidence in the water without the commitment of competitive training.
Athletes train 2 hours per week from September to May, focusing on developing foundational artistic swimming skills, strength, flexibility, and musicality. Swimmers learn basic figures, teamwork formations, and short choreographed routines while building endurance and comfort in deep water.
This program emphasizes:
Skill development in sculling, body positions, and transitions
Fitness and flexibility through land and water training
Creativity and expression through routine choreography
Teamwork and confidence in a positive, inclusive environment
No previous artistic swimming experience is required, but participants should be comfortable swimming independently in deep water.
At the end of the session, athletes showcase what they’ve learned in a fun, low‑pressure performance for family and friends.
Art Start Program with a January Start
For athletes who complete the Try Art Program and want to continue, the club also offers a half‑year program beginning in January. This mid‑season option provides a smooth bridge from Try Art into the next full competitive or recreational season, giving swimmers extra time to build skills, confidence, and comfort before team placements begin.
Season Starts Jan 2027 (There will be no classes the week of March Break)
For ART Start, the athlete should be comfortable and capable of swimming in deep water for longer periods of time.
* A minimum of four registered athletes are needed to run this program.
Fees- $320.00 over 5 months
This program is designed for swimmers over the age of 21 and includes both Recreational and Competitive Masters.
Our goal is to have fun and stay fit in a program that offers both recreational and competitive synchro training. The program provides a great opportunity for our "retired" provincial and national level swimmers to reunite and continue to swim in a sport they remain passionate about. If you love the water and are looking for something beyond swimming laps, artistic swimming may be just the thing for you!
